EDUCATORS' CHALKDOWN (STRIKE)

My deepest consent is on the issue presented regarding negotiations on OSD tabled at the PSCBC. Mine is on the newspaper article from 'City Press' dated the 28th of June 2009. What was on that article regarding the demands from our notorious union 'Sadtu' for me was very unrealistic.

So high those demands cannot be met by a government that is said to be in a period of a recession. My plea is that, our political leaders should begin to be realistic, because their demands have made the process at the bargaining chamber to deadlog. My worst fear is, they are now threatening to embark on a strike action when schools reopen, which then means 'bafowethu'... "no work no pay". I wish us to all think of what happened to us when we were hard hit by having our salaries docked in 2007 during that longest strike.

Some of us as single parents have not recovered from that up to now. The question I'm asking every blogger who is an educator is that, are we really ready for a strike action in such a recesssion? "Irandi i low majita"
Out for now, hope to hear from your comments.
